Frequently Asked Questions

What is "gold filled" jewelry?

All gold filled Crystal Collective pieces are made with 14k gold comprising 5% of the total weight of the chain (14/20). Gold filled jewelry is an affordable and quality alternative to solid gold. It is made by bonding the solid gold to a base metal of sterling silver with heat and pressure. Quality gold filled pieces last 10+ years without tarnishing like gold plated jewelry.

"Hey, is this a real crystal?!"

I get that question often, and the answer is YES! I personally choose and source all of our crystals, minerals, stones, beads, chain, wire, and findings. Every piece you purchase is handpicked and then handmade by me. It is also usually tested out in the field by yours truly as well. Hey, not all heroes wear capes!

Handmade

What "handmade" really means is that The Crystal Collective is not Target. There is not a warehouse somewhere with stacks of product. I actually make every piece by hand. Many pieces are one of a kind (or 4 of a kind). Your patience and understanding of process time for custom orders is greatly appreciated!

Keep It Nice

With proper care your pieces will last many years. Although you can workout and shower with gold filled jewelry, I do not recommend chlorine pools or hot tubs as it will cause premature wear and stress.

Sterling Silver is best kept tarnish free through regular wear. The oil on your skin helps keep it polished. I use the old "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" trick and put Windex on it too, if I am desperate, but with care to avoid any stones.

Plated pieces should always be kept dry: never worn for bathing, swimming, or working out.
